Statues of Men - The Band
Twin brothers Matt and Dan Maloney founded Statues of Men in their home county of Pembrokeshire in 2018 before shifting the project to Cardiff. In 2022, they introduced new members of the band, Jamie Dean (bass) and Sam Green (drums). The new line-up burst onto the local music scene with a headline performance at Tiny Rebel (Cardiff) and haven’t looked back.

Matt Maloney (guitar/vocals)
Dan Maloney (guitar)
Twin brothers, Matt and Dan, grew up listening to Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys. Inspired by these and others like them, the twins created their own band with which to make more of the music they love. Originally from Pembrokeshire, they moved to Cardiff in search of a bigger crowd and whilst studying music at University of South Wales (USW), recruited Sam Green (drums) and Jamie Dean (Bass). The rest is history!
Jamie Dean (bass)
Self taught on bass and many other instruments, Jamie is also the mastermind behind the band’s recorded sound; engineering, mixing and producing each track from the Pembrokeshire studio.
Alongside Statues of Men, Jamie performs with his brother Josh under the stage name Vicetrack - a rare live DnB outfit rapidly gaining a cult following in Wales.
Sam Green (drums)
Originally from Leeds, Sam relocated to Cardiff to pursue a career in music, initially studying at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) and then The Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway. Whilst studying at RWCMD, Sam played and recorded with a number of bands, before joining Statues of Men.
Having also gained a reputation as a talented jazz drummer, Sam invariably has a number of jazz related projects on the go, including What’s New?! and the Nils Kavanagh Trio, with whom he toured Ireland in 2023, opening the internationally renowned ‘Sligo Jazz Project’ festival.
